Lower your electric bills by up to 70% with residential solar!

You must protect yourself from ever increasing energy costs. Due to our dynamic growth and extreme temperatures, our peak demand grows daily. Over the last 35 years, the average annual rate increase in the US has been 6.5%, and in Arizona, rates can increase by as much as 10%. By converting to residential solar, you can offset the majority of these future increases.

Take advantage of state and federal tax credits!

When the Investment Tax Credit passed Congress in October of 2008, the federal government removed the existing $2,000 cap on the ITC, giving home residential solar and business owners an uncapped tax credit equaling 30% of the cost* of an installed photovoltaic solar system. In addition to the Federal tax credit, the State of Arizona credits an additional $1,000.

Benefit from big utility rebates!

Arizona’s utilities have also proven to be very progressive, with Arizona Public Service and Tucson Electric Power providing home (residential solar) and business owners (commercial solar) an incentive of up to a $3.00 per watt on qualifying installations. Residential solar program incentives are currently $2.70 per watt, with a maximum incentive of $13,500. Even smaller utilities in Arizona outside of the jurisdiction of APS and TEP are offering fantastic rebates.

Increase your property value!

The value of a residential solar system can be added to the appraised value of your property and does not increase your property taxes. Solar is truly one of the few home improvements that can be justified in terms of return on invested dollar when comparing it to new landscaping or a sparkling swimming pool. Imagine if you were in the market for a new home and a property presented itself with little or no utility bill. How could you not be interested?

Reduce your carbon footprint!

According to SMA America, a leader in PV inverter technology, a 5 kilowatt PV residential solar system in Arizona would save nearly 175 tons of carbon dioxide over its thirty year lifespan. It takes nearly 2800 new pinion pines, 1800 ponderosa pines, two saguaros and a prickly pear to absorb that same amount of CO2 produced by fossil fuels! Solar electricity is a truly renewable and sustainable source of energy.

*Simply Solar of Arizona quotes the 30% Federal ITC AFTER the utility rebate is credited. For our protection, Simply Solar of Arizona will not quote projects using the retail cost tax basis. However, there is a strong argument from many residential solar professionals stating that the tax credit basis should be taken BEFORE the utility incentive, as the incentive is classified as a Renewable Energy Credit (REC), not a REBATE.

We are NOT tax professionals and highly advise our clients to seek the advice of a tax professional PRIOR to committing to this investment. For research on the tax advantages of residential solar, feel free to use the links under “Financing and Incentives” for tax information.
